Our cathedral sponsors the youth organization Russian Orthodox Teens of America (ROTA) which unites Orthodox children 10 years of age and older. The youth organization is engaged in gathering of donations for the needy, sponsoring elderly parishioners and small children, organizing field trips and social gatherings, maintaining Russian traditions, studying Russian history, culture, language, and Divine law. The organization calls all Russian Orthodox youth to be united around the Church and to do good works for the glory of God.
The organization was formed in November, 2007. Since that time the group has visited St. John Chrysostom Greek monastery, near Kenosha, Wisconsin, as well as St. Anthony monastery and St. Paisius Velichkovsky Serbian monastery in Arizona. Vladika Peter led the group singing the praises of the Mother of God at Saint George's temple. In June of 2008, Reader Leonti led the group on an outing to the Russian village of Vladimirovo. The group put on craft shows of hand-made articles in 2007 and 2008. With the money earned from these projects the teenagers went skiing at the Wisconsin Dells. The group has collected monetary donations and children's things and sent them to a children's home in Russia.
