Invites students to the church-parish school

for the 2009-2010 academic year

Classes are held in the church hall (1800 Lee St., Des Plaines IL 60018) on Saturdays from 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon to 6:00 o'clock in the evening. Children from age 6 and up are accepted. The program of study includes the following subjects: Divine Law, Church Slavonic and Russian Language, Reading, History, Drawing, Choral Singing and Folk Dancing. All classes are conducted in Russian. The school has a library that makes books written in Russian available. Other activities include drama, sewing and needlework. The school encourages pupils to attend church services on Saturday evenings and the Sunday morning Divine Liturgy. The girls sing in the choir and the boys serve in the altar.

For children from ages 3 to 6 a kindergarten is provided. Classes take place on Saturday from 10 o'clock in the morning to 1 o'clock in the afternoon, and from 2 o'clock in the afternoon to 6 o'clock in the evening.
